Princess Yamanobeno Himemiko (山辺皇女)

Princess Yamanobeno Himemiko (663 - October 25, 686) was an imperial princess of Emperor Tenchi. Her mother was HITACHI no Iratsume, a daughter of SOGA no Akae. She was the lawful wife of Prince Otsu, a prince of Emperor Tenmu.

When she was young, her grandfather Akae was banished in the Jinshin War. She became the lawful wife of Prince Otsu, but the Prince was arrested of allegedly having an intention for rebellion and killed himself in his house in Iware, and she also killed herself. "Nihonshoki" (Chronicles of Japan) says that she ran with bare feet swinging her hair and killed herself, and those who saw her grieved and moaned.
